Indonesia consists of so many beautiful landscapes that are commonly lived by villagers. Since there are not many metropolitan cities in Indonesia, that makes it reasonable that the country is surrounded by the countryside.

Most Indonesian villages have beautiful landscapes and scenery worth visiting. That is why the government makes them as the tourist village which becomes so popular lately.

Speaking of those villages, some of them becomes famous and has to be the most favorite place to visit for tourist. Let’s see a few of them below!

1. Baduy Village

If you visit Jakarta, not far from the city lived an indigenous Sundanese that comes from one of the most famous tribes in Indonesia, the Baduy tribe. They are living in villages around the Kendeng mountain, which becomes one of the most popular villages in Indonesia that worth visiting.

Baduy villages are located in Leuwidamar district, Lebak Regency, Banten. They parted into two types of Baduy which calls as the Baduy Luar and Baduy Dalam. The Baduy Luar modify their culture into the new changes in the country with modernization.

On the other hand, the Baduy Dalam keep their custom culture like before and never do the changes by modernization in the country. Even so, they are living happily as the tribe who keep the balance of nature and harmony of living.

2. Wae Rebo

Wae Rebo is the village that located in Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The village becomes one of the most famous villages in Indonesia that worth visiting. It also becomes one of the most magnetic tourism visits on the island outside the beautiful beaches that exist there.

Wae Rebo villages contain seven main houses only that they call the Mbaru Niang. This place also popular as the Wae Rebo a village above the sky in Flores which you can see the cloud over the village in the morning.

Wae Rebo is surrounded by green hills with the most beautiful scenery that you can ever imagine before. Tough to get it is not easy, but you will get the most wonderful experience once in your lifetime.

3. Waturaka

Waturaka villages have become one of the villages in Indonesia that worth visiting. It is located in Ende regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara specifically around Kelimutu lake.

Waturaka village offers the beauty of horticultural landscapes that has a beauty of nature of the terrace rice field. For its beauty and cultures, the government give the village an award as the best nature in Indonesia.

Waturaka also achieved the award as the rising villages that start to achieving better economic growth a few years later.

4. Sasak Sade

Sasak Sade village is located in around the Rembitan village, Center of Lombok regency, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The village becomes one of the most popular villages in Indonesia that worth to visit which is dominated by the Sasak tribe.

Sasak Sade village is similar to the Baduy tribe which keeps their custom culture even though modernization comes through the city. Their house is made from bamboo and dry reeds. It contains about 150 houses that live by around 700 people.

Sasak Sade village is located not far from Mataram city as the center of the metropolitan city in Lombok. You only need about 15 minutes by car to get to the villages from the Lombok Praya airport and around 30 minutes from the Mataram city.

5. Penglipuran Village

Penglipuran village is located in Bangli regency, Bali, one of the most famous villages in Indonesia to visit that not far from one of the most popular flower gardens in Indonesia. Villagers there keep their custom culture out from modernization in their way.

Even so, villagers in Penglipuran are welcomingly kind to every tourist that coming there. They offer a beautiful village with a beautiful nature that never changes from time to time.

The Penglipuran village achieved the Kalpataru award around 1996 by the Indonesian government. Later in 2016, the village also achieved the award-winning for the cleanest village in the world after Giethoorn in Netherland, and Mawlynnong in India.

6. Kete Kesu

Kete Kesu becomes one of the most famous villages in Indonesia that worth visiting. It is located around the Tana Toraja regency specifically at the Paepalean, Sanggalangi, North Toraja, Sulawesi island.

Kete Kesu becomes so famous with their Tongkonan as the traditional house from Tana Toraja. It looks similar to other traditional houses in Indonesia, but they have a different part. Commonly they provide one room to saving their corps relatives that they are not capable of yet to buried them.

They’re also a famous cemetery that they call the Limo, which the corps buried in a cliff within the Rambu Solo tradition. Around there, you can see the most green of rice field and hills that beautifully exist.

7. Pemuteran

Pemuteran village becomes one of the most famous villages in Indonesia that is located in Buleleng, Bali. The village is not far from Menjangan Island, which is easy to reach. They offer the beauty of the sea with coral reefs that exist there. The village becomes one of the best places for diving and snorkeling in Asia.

8. Pujon Kidul

Pujon Kidul becomes one of the most famous villages in Indonesia to visit that located in Malang, East Java. Malang is popular with the village’s tourism since a very long time ago, and Pujon Kidul becomes one of them that capable to reach so many tourist visits from time to time as one of the most beneficial of tourism in Indonesia.
