Susi Susanti is so famous in the 1990 eras that she brought so many medals for Indonesia. She was born in Tasikmalaya, 11 February 1971, and start her career since 1987 at the South East Asian Games in Jakarta. She won so many gold medals since then, whether for a single or group team.

Susi Susanti achieves her Badminton Hall of Fame awards in 2004 and the sign of honor of the Indonesian Bintang Jasa Utama award in 1992. Her fame became the biggest influence on Indonesian women so that they can achieve their dream. She made the reasons why badminton is so popular in Indonesia.

2. Ivana Lie

Ivana Lie is one of the most legendary female badminton players in Indonesia that bring Badminton in Indonesia become so famous. She was born in Bandung, 7 Maret 1960, and start her career in Badminton since high school in 1980. Her first movement that time in so many championships such as Swedia Open, Denmark Open, Asian Games, All England Open, and many more.

Ivana Lie won so many medals such as gold and platinum in most of her games. She was good whether plays in a single or group team. In 1987, she won the gold medal for Indonesia Open, Taiwan Open, and China Open.

3. Verawaty Fajrin

Verawaty Fajrin becomes so popular in the 1980 eras before Susi Susanti. She commonly plays in a group with Ivana Lie, Imelda Wigoena, Rosiana Tendean, or Yanti Kusmiati. She was born in Jakarta, 1 October 1957 and now becomes the focus on her political career.

Fajrin used to becomes so great female badminton player and brought so many medals for Indonesia. She won some gold medals in Malaysia Open 1986, Netherland Open and World Cup in 1989, World Cup for a single player in 1980, All England in 1979, and many more.

4. Imelda Wigoena

In the 19070 up to 1980 eras, there was Imelda Wigoena as the most legendary female badminton player in Indonesia. she brought so many medals for Indonesia, from gold to bronze medals. She was good at whether to play for a single or group team.

Imelda Wigoena’s first gold medals start from her competition in Uber Cup in 1975. After that, in the same year, she won another gold medals in Scotland Open, Denmark Open, and All England Cup. In 1977, she won for the Netherland Open, then in 1978, she won the gold medal for Asian Games.

Since then, until 1986, Wigoena has always brought the gold medals for Indonesia in most of her competition.

5. Rosiana Tendean

Rosiana Tendean is one of the most legendary female badminton players in the eras of 1980-1990. She commonly plays in a group with Ivana Lie, Imelda Wigoena, Eliza Nathanael, Gunawan, and many more.

Rosiana Tendean’s career in badminton brought so many medals for Indonesia. She won some of the gold medals such as in the Indonesia Open in 1990, Uber Cup in 1994, World Grand Prix in 1989, SEA Games in 1985, and many more.

6. Erma Sulistianingsih

In the 1990 eras, there was Erma Sulistianigsih as the most legendary female badminton player in Indonesia. She becomes popular in a group team play that brings her with so many medals on her team.

Erma Sulistianingsih brought so many gold medals for Indonesia such as in the Indonesia Open, Germany Open, Singapore Final Grand Prix, Malaysia Open, and many more.

7. Minarni Soedaryanto

Minarni Soedaryanto is an Indonesian female badminton player that was born in Pasuruan, 10 Mei 1944. She starts her career as a badminton player since she was 15 years old. After retiring, she keeps contributed her badminton career to became the badminton coach for the Indonesian Uber team.

Minarni Soedaryanto brought so many gold medals for Indonesia, such as in the Malaysia Open in 1966, Canada Open and US Open in 1969, Uber Cup in 1975, and many more.

8. Retno Koestijah

Retno Kestijah is one of the most Indonesian badminton players that become so legendary in between the 1960 up to 1970 eras. She was born in Karanganyar, Kebumen, Central Java, on 19 June 1942.  Her fame becomes started when she won so many gold medals in the All England Cup.

After retirement, Retno Koestijah becomes the Indonesian badminton coach for Pelatnas and PB Jayaraya. She brought so many medals for Indonesia at that time.  She won some competition in the US Open in 1969, All England in 1968, Malaysia Open in 1966, Asian Games in 1962 and 1966, and many more.

9. Yuliani Santosa

Yuliani Santosa is one of the most legendary female badminton players in Indonesia after Susi Susanti in the 1990 eras. She was born in Semarang, 29 October 1971 and starts her badminton career with PB Djarum foundation in about 1991.

Just like Susi Susanti, Yuliani Santosa also brought so many medals for Indonesia. She won at the semifinal Germany Open in 1991, won gold the gold medal in some competition such as the Swiss Open in 1993, Taiwan Open in 1992, Asia Open a Poland Open in 1991, and many more.
