Indonesia consists of so many rain forest that spreads everywhere from the Sabang to Merauke islands. That makes Indonesia has so many types of Indonesian woods that come from different trees with some types of butterflies in Indonesia living there. Moreover, some of those woods are even protected by the government as the part of Indonesian richest nature.

Most rain forests in Indonesia have aged more than a hundred years that makes the trees are capable to produce sturdier woods.

Not surprisingly that some Indonesian using some of those wooden trees for business needs. Not only for building but also some epic furniture that made specifically from the type of Indonesian legal woods.

1. Teak

Teak becomes one of the sturdier types of Indonesian woods that so popular in Indonesia. It spreads in most Indonesian rain forest that comes from the Jati tree. It has a big body of tree with a diameter that is capable to grow up to 25 centimeters or more. It also can be grown up to 70 meters tall of height which depends on the years of ages.

Teak commonly using for furniture which has good durability that Indonesian love the most. It has a beautiful fiber spot that makes it has a beauty of natural design on the wood. Because it has an adaptive type of dry season, commonly it lived well around Central Java’s forest.

2. Meranti

Meranti becomes of the sturdier types of Indonesian woods that commonly live well in the Kalimantan forest. That is why this type of Indonesian wood is known as the Kayu Kalimantan. It has about 4 meters of diameter and 70 meters of height of the maximum growth size.

Meranti has commonly well known for using in both home types of furniture and house building. Indonesian also love to paint the wood after finishing the craving for their Meranti’s types of furniture. Moreover, the pulp of the wood can be used for the paper material as the legal Indonesian wood.

3. Albasia

Albasia wood becomes one of the types of Indonesian wood that more popular with the Sengon wood for some Javanese forest type as one of the types of forest in Indonesia. It has a softer wood fiber than the Meranti or Teak. That is why usually Indonesian makes it the basic material to make some synthetic woods.

Albasia commonly growing well in tropical regions that make Indonesian plants so many of them easily. The growing process also comes faster than other Indonesian wood types such as the Indonesian teak or Meranti.

4. Cendana

Cendana wood becomes one of the types of Indonesian wood that has unique types of trees. It calls as the only parasite type of tree that only growth up to 15 meters tall and about 30 centimeters in diameters. Indonesian also claims that this type of tree is so difficult to cultivate.

Commonly, Cendana wood becomes the basic material for the incense and Indonesian local crafts. It has a soft material with great durability that perfect in use for crafts material.

You can find the Cendana wood around East Nusa Tenggara’s forest. It even becomes one of the biggest export materials for the wood category for the type of white Cendana wood.

5. Ulin

Ulin wood becomes one of the types of Indonesian wood that contains a sturdier wood fiber than other Indonesian wood. That is why commonly Indonesian using it as the basic material for building a house or ship.

Ulin wood has great durability which can resist over the weather extreme change, water, and anti-termite. That makes it perfect for use in the basic material construction of Indonesian ships.

Ulin woods commonly can grow to sell in around Kalimantan and Sumatra forest as one of the facts of Sumatran rainforest.

It is capable of growing up to 50 meters tall and around 1 meter of the body diameter. The amazing durability and beautiful pattern of the wood fiber on it makes Indonesian also using it for crafts material and sculpture.

6. Ebony

Ebony wood becomes one of the types of Indonesian woods that commonly grow well in the Kalimantan forest as one of the beautiful forests in Indonesia.

It becomes the rarest type of Indonesian wood preserved by the Indonesian government and the IUCN as the biggest world of conservation union for trees.

It recorded that Indonesia becomes the biggest exporter of the Ebony wood around 1973. They sold the wood for Japan, Europe, and the US which makes Indonesia becomes so popular at that time. As time goes by, the Eboni wood becomes rarest as the growth is pretty difficult to resist with the weather change.

Commonly, people using the Ebony wood for the piano, guitar, or violin’s materials. It has a weight type of wood that makes it difficult to floating in the water. Some Indonesian also using it for crafts material or sculptures.

7. Trembesi

Trembesi wood becomes one of the types of Indonesian wood that has a great eco-green for the environment. It claims that the wood is capable to absorb more than 28.5 tons of carbon dioxide in a day.

The worst deforestation in Indonesia nowadays makes this wood becomes so popular. That because of the capacity to support a clean environment.

Moreover, the beautiful pattern of the fiber wood on the Trembesi becomes the most magnetic thing in export trade. That makes it has a preservation system to protect it from the extinct.

8. Sonokeling

Sonokeling becomes one of the types of Indonesian wood which commonly growth in Javanese forest. It has a beautiful pattern of fiber wood which Indonesian love to using it as furniture materials.
