8 Unsolved Killing Cases in Indonesia

Killing cases have become the most terrifying case in most of the country, including Indonesia. Based on the criminal record case from some sources, Indonesia has some cases about killing cases that are still unsolved until now such as the Indonesian serial killer that terribly exist.

The unsolved killing cases in Indonesia have become tragically heartbreaking to hear. Even so, some people perceived the taboo to speak about the case to reveal the truth. That makes the case has never been solved because the police get so many difficult ways to collect the proof.

Speaking of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia that tragically exist, here we have some of them that you should know. Let’s check them out below!

1. Marsinah Case

The Marsinah case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia since a long time ago. It happened around 1993 in Sidoarjo, East Java during the riot of demonstration around PT Catur Putra Surya. She is not one of the Indonesian most well-known models or the type of popular people in Indonesia but killed injusticely.

Marsinah is one of the employees in Catur Putra Surya company who participated in the labor demonstration. She was killed and found dead in the middle of the forest without knowing who murdered her. The police even had no idea about the culprit until now.

2. Udin Case

The Udin case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia that happen around 1996. He was found dead with so many wounds over his body from the mysterious persecution.

Fuad Muhammad Syarifuddin is the journalist that work at the Bernas newspaper in Yogyakarta. He was an active journalist that brave enough to gave some criticism about the new order politician that happen in Indonesia.

3. Munir Case

The Munir case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia that so popular in September 2004. Munir Said Thalib was known as one of the activists of human right in Indonesia that has the most critical mind in human right.

Munir was involved in so many cases about human rights and active in writing for newspaper towards the human right, justice, law, politic, and so on. He may not become one of the most popular Indonesian superheroes, but He tried to solve the Marsinah case even though he had no clue who murdered her.

Munir was dead in his flight from Indonesia to Amsterdam in September 2004. It was reported that he was poisoned and found dead about two hours before the plane landed in Amsterdam. The culprits were found but later they were sentenced to free which triggered some controversial issues until now.

4. Kidnapping Case 1997/1998

Around the change between the old order and the new order, there was a political riot in Indonesia that causing so many criminal cases, including kidnapping and murdering case. The kidnapping case in around 1997 and 1998 becomes the most epic trending that makes Indonesian terrifyingly heartbreak as one of the Indonesian most notorious criminals along with the history.

Some of the people involved as the culprit of the kidnapping case were sentenced freely even though they did some of the killing and kidnapping cases. Some of the victims were sentenced free by the kidnapper, but some of them was missing without knowing where they were.

Later, it was reported that some of the Indonesian militaries were involved in the kidnapping case. One of them was sentenced to be fired, but the other one was sentenced to be free. That makes a huge controversy since about 13 people who were kidnapped were missing. Moreover, the culprit even don’t say a word about where the people that they kidnapped were.

5. Wiji Thukul Case

Wiji Thukul case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia around 1998. He was reported missing during the riot of the new order in 1998 and people wondering if he was one of the victims in the kidnapping case in 1998. His body was never found until now and there is no evidence about the kidnapping though.

Wiji Thukul was known as a poetry man that makes so many beautiful poems about pro-democratic, human right, and politics. He even gets a Wertheim Encourage Award in Netherland with WS Rendra.

6. Salim Kancil Case

Salim Kancil’s case is similar to the Marsinah case which bee murdered because he was involved in the labor right. Salim was known as the bravest man in Selok Awar-Awar village that struggle a lot with the illegal sand mining around their village.

Salim believes that the illegal sand mining destroyed some of the villager’s rice fields. He was found dead after persecuted by some people that involved in illegal sand mining activity. Later, the police sentenced about 35 people that brutally murdered him.

But, there are still about 13 people that were sentenced to free by the judge so that makes a huge controversy. Later, there are so many petitions from so many labor and human right activist to Salim so that he gets the right justice. Until now the case still unsolved which makes it worst to face human rights and labor justice in Indonesia.

7. Akseyna Case

Akseyna case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia since around 2015. Akseyna is one of the uni students in Indonesian University that found death in the UI lake. He got some wounds in his head and the types of police in Indonesia were found nothing for proofs of the culprit until now.

8. Sheila Case

Sheila case becomes one of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia that happen around 2015. Sheila is a transgender that found death with so many wounds over his body in Ceger bridge. The police suspected the robbery but never found who was the culprit until now.

So, there are some of the unsolved killing cases in Indonesia that tragically exist. Most of them had never had a bright light to get who the real culprit that sadistically harms them.
