Speaking of the rice dish, it comes from the creativity of Indonesian that commonly becomes the food icon in some Indonesian regions. Commonly, they combine the rice with some Indonesian dishes complete with some Indonesian spices and herbs. That makes the taste are so delicious makes everyone want to try them all.

1. Nasi Uduk

Nasi Uduk becomes one of the Indonesian famous main dishes that has a delicious taste. You can find it easily in most Indonesian city specifically for breakfast in the morning. There will be so many Nasi Uduk sellers in every corner of the street in the Indonesian city.

Nasi Uduk contains rice cooked with coconut milk, nutmeg, ginger, lemongrass, and pepper. Commonly, people use the fried chicken, fried or boiled egg, fried noodles, Tempe, and Indonesian chilly sauce as the side dish.

2. Nasi Langgi

Nasi Langgi is a combination of rice, papaya leaves, anchovies, the stir of glass noodles, and Indonesian local chili peppers. Commonly people add some fried Tempe, egg, or chicken as their favorite side dish. It has a spicy level that can’t be easier to tolerate for some people.

3. Nasi Kuning

Nasi Kuning contains rice cooked with turmeric and coconut milk. People commonly combine it with some Tempe stir-fried, chicken, egg, fish, and many more. They also can put them all at once while using it for the Tumpeng for special or sacred events.

4. Nasi Timbel

Nasi Timbel is so popular in West Java as the food icon in most West Javanese cities. It contains the usual type of rice that is cooked and wrapped properly with banana leaves. The texture is more crowded than the usual rice and it tastes so delicious.

Commonly, Indonesian mix Nasi Timbel with some petai, Sayur Asem, Tempe or Tahu, chicken, egg, or fish. The taste is so delicious which makes everyone that comes to the West Java will make a list to try it.

5. Nasi Padang

Nasi Padang becomes so popular in Indonesia that originally comes from Padang, West Sumatra. Since it becomes one of the rice dishes in Indonesia, you can easily find it everywhere. It has a spicy taste with a unique taste of Padang seasoning spices.

Nasi Padang contains rice, Rendang, egg, fish, chicken, and papaya leaves. The Padang seasoning spices and herbs make it different from other Indonesian dishes. It looks similar to the curry soup but thicker with a specific Padang taste.

6. Nasi Goreng

8. Sego Tewel

Sego Tewel becomes the most popular rice dish after Nasi Gandul in Pati, Semarang, Central Java. The most iconic part of this dish is about the packaging which using the teak leaves over the plate. That makes the taste more delicious with the smell of the leaves surrounding the dish.
